Physical Abuse

Physical abuse involves any use of force or violence that causes harm or fear. It can take many forms, including behaviors that cause physical pain or injury. Examples include:

  • Slapping, punching, kicking, or pushing

  • Choking or restraining someone against their will

  • Pinching, scratching, biting, or grabbing

  • Shoving or throwing objects

  • Spanking or burning

  • Spitting or other harmful actions

  • Using or threatening to use weapons, such as belts, sticks, knives, or firearms

These actions violate a person’s safety, bodily autonomy, and can leave lasting physical and emotional effects. Remember, abuse is about power and control, not just physical harm.
