Volunteers are the heart of our mission, your skills and compassion directly support survivors through crisis response, advocacy, and community outreach. We offer flexible roles with training provided. All assignments are managed for safety and fit.

Vintage Values Resale Shops

Assist with processing, pricing, displaying merchandise, and customer service. Vintage Values Committee roles also available. Training provided.

Direct Services

Serve as an advocate for victims and children, crisis intervention, shelter intakes, agency relationships, referrals. Requires structured volunteer training.

Children’s Advocates

Support kids from violent homes with programs, outings, and groups (e.g., evening children’s group Tuesdays 6-8pm; facilitators for Safe Dates (teens), Hands Are Not for Hitting/Words Are Not for Hurting (elementary)). Flexible scheduling; training provided.

Court Advocacy

Accompany survivors in court or assist with special projects.

On-Call Workers

Respond to night crisis calls—hospital visits or shelter transport.

Shelter Assistance

Answer phones, inspections, filing, light repairs, errands.

Office Assistance

Phones, errands, thank-you notes, telephoning (fundraising/canvassing), data entry, copying.

Domestic Violence Advocacy Council

Monthly committee to tackle barriers for survivors and raise awareness.

Speakers Bureau

Share info at booths, fairs, groups; assist outreach.

Fundraising

Help with events or committees.

Weekend positions available for shops, speakers, and some events. If you’ve received services from a DV agency or are a recent survivor, contact Direct Services/Outreach Director (910.343.9969 ext. 111) before applying. All assignments at management’s discretion.

Turn your passion into action by organizing a fundraiser. From neighborhood drives to corporate challenges, your efforts fund critical services like 24/7 hotline support and children’s programs.
